My linguistic interests include language and memory, second language acquisition, and philosophy of language. My most recent research explores people's memory for oral narrative under various conditions of distraction, both the amount of semantic material remembered and the structure of the recalled material. I hope to extend this study to compare memory for first-language narrative with that for second-language narrative. My previous studies have involved work on the relationship between visual and linguistic processing and a study on the acquisition of grammatical gender in a French immersion elementary school.

My courses in 2005-2006 indluce the following:

LING 4/544 2nd Language Acquisition
LT 4/510 Discourse Analysis (Cultural Awareness)
LT 611 Terminal Project
